Appraiser: Licensed professional appointed by the mortgage company to prepare a report on the

Surveyor: Certified professional who measures the property's boundaries and who prepares a
topographical drawing of the land. |

Inspector: Either a certified Professional Engineer or Texas Real Estate Commission licensed
inspector who evaluates the structural components, mechanical items and pest status of the property. |

Contractor: Individual who prepares cost estimates for needed repairs discovered by the inspector
for both the buyer and the seller. |

Insurance, Tax Agents & HOAs |
|

Insurance Broker: Agent responsible for providing quotes and preparing policies required by the
mortgage company to protect the collateral. |

Tax District Appraiser : Agent of the Property Appraisal District who determines the value of the
property for tax purposes. |
|
Homeowners Association : Licensed organisation who administers area amenities (swimming pools,
security, common areas, etc.), and enforces the neighborhood deed restrictions for a monthly or annual fee. |
